Hi! I’m Julia Zass, a multidisciplinary Designer and Illustrator with 10+ years of experience, currently working as an independent creative and contract designer for Backer and Substack.

I value functionality, minimalism, and clear aesthetics in design. I bring that mindset into every project and help teams move toward simple, thoughtful, and effective solutions.

Illustration is a special part of my work. It helps products stand out, express complex ideas, and create emotional connection. But not every project needs illustration — sometimes words or simpler visuals do the job better. I use illustration only when it truly supports the product and enhances the visual story.
